Minibeast information texts

Year 4 have been linking Science and English this week: using their knowledge of non-chronological reports to produce an informative booklet about a chosen minibeast. They also included references from any websites or books they used to find their facts.

Story writing

Year 4 used their literacy skills to write science fiction stories over Easter. (They are great to read. If you want to have a sneaky peak, you can click here to read short extracts from three of the stories).

I was wondering if anyone could share any top tips about writing an effective story. My tip would be to write an opening to get the reader interested… beginning with action is one way to do this.
